QUALIDATA - Economic and social research council
The aims
of
QUALIDATA,
the "Qualitative Data Archival Resource Centre" at ESRC, Essex are
locating, assessing and documenting qualitative data and arranging for
their deposit in suitable public archive repositories; disseminating
information about such data and raising awareness among the social science
research community. The centre is concerned with research data arising
from the range of social science disciplines, including sociology, social
policy, anthropology, social and economic history, political science,
social and human geography and social psychology. The user community is
viewed to be academic, government and policy, media and archival
researchers.
QUALIDATA
is not an archive itself: it is an action unit. The Centre locates and
evaluates research data, catalogues it, organises its transfer to suitable
archives, and publicises its existence to researchers as an information
resource.
The Resource Centre for Access to Data on Europe (r-cade)
The
Resource Centre for access to Data on Europe
is an interdisciplinary resource centre that will help researchers and
analysts to identify and acquire data from three data providers:
-
UNESCO
(United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation),
-
the ILO
(International Labour Organisation) and
-
Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Union).
It has
been established in the UK in a partnership between the Centre for
European Studies at the University of Durham and the data archive at the
University of Essex. Access to data is available through r-cade data
services. The current datasets page lists, describes and identifies
sources of data.
