Cross-national studies and projects

  • Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) - CEPS/INSTEAD - Luxembourg
    Co-operative research project with a membership that includes 25 countries on four continents: Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. The primary goal of this project is to promote comparative research on the economic status of populations in different countries.

  • The PACO (Panel comparability) project is a centralised approach to create an international comparative database integrating micro data from various national household panels over a large number of years.

  • The panel study on Belgian households - Belgium

  • GSOEP - Socio-economic panel - Germany
    Representative longitudinal study of private households in the Federal Republic of Germany. The GSOEP data provides information on all household members, consisting of Germans living in the old and new German states, foreigners and recent immigrants to Germany. Some of the many topics include household composition, occupational biographies, employment, earnings, health and satisfaction indicators. The data is available to researchers in Germany and abroad in SPSS, SAS, TDA, STATA and ASCII format for immediate use. Extensive documentation in English and German is available online.

    • SOEPINFO is an interactive system with extensive search capabilities that provides you with detailed information on the variables in the SOEP dataset. By interactively creating lists of variables in SOEPINFO, the user can then output frequencies information, item correspondence and even generated SPSS, SAS, TDA (6.1) and Stata (4.0) command files.

  • Panel Study of Income Dynamics - PSID , Michigan, USA
    The PSID is a longitudinal survey of a representative sample of US individuals and the families in which they reside. It has been ongoing since 1968. The data is collected annually and the data files contain the full span of information collected over the course of the study. PSID data can be used for cross-sectional, longitudinal and intergenerational analysis and for studying both individuals and families.

  • (RLMS) The Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
    The RLMS is a series of nationally representative surveys examining the health and economic welfare in the Russian Federation. Surveys began in 1992.
